WHAT THE WORLD LOOK LIKE IF ALL THE ICE MELT?
If all the ice covering Antarctica , Greenland, and in mountain glaciers around the world were to melt, sea level would rise about 70 meters (230 feet). The ocean would cover all the coastal cities. And land area would shrink significantly.
What would the world look like if all ice melted?
How would sea level change if all glaciers melted?
what would happen to aquatic animals.
There are more than five million cubic miles of ice on Earth, and some scientists say it would take more than 5,000 years to melt it all. If we continue adding carbon to the atmosphere, we’ll very likely create an ice-free planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58.
5.8 million square miles of our planet is covered with ice.If all of it were melt overnight the global sea level would rise approximately 230 feet .That's enough to cover Tower bridge.
If all that ice melted it would release carbon dioxide into the air.Ice need high co2 concentrations to melt in their fist place, given that the oxygen content in the atmosphere would remain the same.you would slowly start to choke from breathing the air you'd have little time to acclimatize to the the new world
Due to ice melt ocean currents would change their direction affecting sea life. With no time to evolve to such extreme changes. That ones still alive to live would find better place to leave their homes and fined better place to live. This would result in decrease of human food supply
a change in sea current would also mean dramatic weather changes.Heavy rains to the deserts'and areas with a significant rainfall would dry out. This would devastate agriculture, and cause a global famine.wind pattern would also change too. the sun would draw more moisture from the oceans making more moisture from the oceans, making more clouds in the sky.
luckily all ice would not melt overnight but it is melting even the oldest ice core, that has been storing information about Earths's climate for 1.5 millions of years. If we keep adding fuel to climate change fire in 5000 years Earth will be ice free
